Learn to dive for $65 per person.

If you've never tried scuba diving or want to give diving another chance, Mayan Paradise Tours is the ideal place to learn. With our Learn to Scuba Dive course (also known as the Discover Scuba or "resort" course), you'll have an opportunity to experience the thrill of scuba in a safe, easy-going setting under the watchful eye of one of our professional PADI instructors. In the span of three hours, you'll go from complete novice to exploring the spectacular reef off Cozumel in the warm Caribbean. We also offer a relaxing setting for accompanying non-divers. Your course includes all necessary equipment.

Our Learn to Scuba Dive course begins with an overview of the fundamentals. We'll review equipment, essential terminology, hand signals, and breathing techniques. Our approach to teaching is hands-on. Our instructors provide thorough demonstrations and then help their students learn by example in a sparkling hotel swimming pool overlooking the Caribbean. You'll learn at your own pace, based on your own goals, and have fun at the same time.

The number of participants in our group course is limited to four people. We also offer individual lessons upon request for $140 per person (please contact us for availability).

After the pool instruction, we'll guide you through an ocean dive to give you a real taste of the rewards of scuba diving. There's no better place than Cozumel to experience your first dive. Not only is the marine life stunning, but the clarity of the water is remarkable even by Caribbean standards. Although your first dive will be limited to a maximum depth of 40 feet, you're sure to come away with a sense of Cozumel's undersea treasures (and maybe even catch a glimpse of a seahorse). Of course, we'll be with you every step of the way to ensure your safety and full enjoyment.

At Mayan Paradise Tours, we take special pride in sharing our love of the island waters with our guests. You'll see it in the patience and professionalism of our staff and our unmatched attention to detail. Our equipment is top of the line and well-maintained. We address every concern related to safety and hygiene so that you don't have to.

If you're accompanied by non-divers, we even have a plan for them. They're welcome to relax around the swimming pool. (The hotel also features a restaurant, bar, and restrooms.) Our Learn to Scuba Dive course is conducted at a convenient location just north of downtown San Miguel, easily accessible from the cruise ship terminals.

Tour times: Please click our tour schedule calendar (see the link to the right) to find a date and time that fits your plans. Please note that the times listed are in local Cozumel time. Cruise ship passengers may be on a different time zone when they arrive in Cozumel. To avoid confusion, please read about the difference between cruise ship time and Cozumel time.
